GA Department of Education

A Declaration of Intent is how you let the GA DOE know not to expect your child in public school. Failing to submit one could result in truancy charges.

Information
You’ll be asked for the names and ages of all students in your household who will be homeschooled, the start and end date for your school year, your signature, and your address.

Expectations
By signing and submitting the form, you are pledging to educate your child for at least 4.5 hours per day for at least 180 days.

Deadline
DOIs must be submitted no later than 30 days from your child’s withdrawal from public school or by September 1st of the year you begin homeschooling.
